Diseases of musculoskeletal aging and orthopaedic surgery is my area of interest, and my previous work has explored periprosthetic bone remodelling and functional genomics in osteoarthritis. I have followed the classic integrated clinical academic training pathway (BMedSci, Academic Foundation Programme, NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship). As a trainee orthopaedic surgeon combined with my involvement with our regional Musculoskeletal Tissue Biobank, I am uniquely positioned to investigate my field. I am involved in a collaborative study with the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and I hope to build on this relationship in conjunction with investigators from the 4ward North institutions during my PhD.
Research Interest: It is an exciting time to be in orthopaedic and osteoarthritis research due to greater collaboration between basic scientists, physicians and surgeons, as well as an increasing coordination of research strategy across the UK and internationally, and I want to be part of furthering this field research.
