I am currently an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Neurology in the North East and have recently started as a Neurology Registrar in Newcastle. I went to medical school to learn more about the brain in health and disease and have steadily moved from research in basic laboratory science to studying higher order cognitive processes. I have also physically moved from Brighton to London and am now finally settled in Newcastle, where I feel at home.
My research uses certain techniques in cognitive neuroscience to study memory for sounds as a way of identifying crucial brain systems that are disrupted in dementia, encephalitis and hearing loss.
Research Interest: I want to use the elegance of the auditory nervous system to probe important brain functions in health and disease.
