I am a paediatric registrar from the Northern region and have completed an Academic Foundation Programme and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship. I work with the Paediatric Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplant team in Newcastle, studying post-transplant immune reconstitution and complications in children with primary immunodeficiencies, primarily supervised by Dr Andrew Gennery. I have recently been studying the gut microbiota in paediatric bone marrow transplant recipients and would now like to focus on the potential beneficial role of the gut microbiota in modulating the immune response post-transplant.
Outside of work I continue to have an interest in mountaineering and rock climbing.
Academic Interest: Immunomodulatory effects of the gut microbiota in post bone marrow transplantation complictions, including graft-versus-host disease, in paediatric patients.
