Jonathan Ariyaratnam was born in Wolverhampton and spent most of his childhood in Bolton, UK. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cambridge, having spent one year studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University in Boston, USA. Since qualifying he has completed Academic Foundation Training in Leeds followed by Core Medical Training in Oxford. He is now an Academic Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at the University of Manchester, where he combines clinical cardiology training with basic science and clinical cardiovascular research.
Research Interest: Jonathan's research interests include cardiac conduction system dysfunction in heart failure and arrhythmias in endurance athletes.
